Example 1: If you woke up at 7 AM, feel normal, and want a creativity boost, you might get a 20-minute "Power Nap" recommendation.
Example 2: If you're exhausted and need recovery, you might get a 90-minute "Full Cycle Nap" recommendation.
Our calculator is based on sleep cycle research:
- 10-20 minute naps (Power Nap) - Improves alertness without grogginess
- 30-60 minute naps - Can cause sleep inertia (grogginess)
- 90 minute naps (Full Cycle) - Completes a full sleep cycle, good for memory and creativity
The ideal time to nap is typically 7-9 hours after waking, or during the natural afternoon dip in alertness (2-3 PM for most people).
